Valentine's Day should be left to once a year in my opinion. I agree with the quote above that says that if there is a day in which we didn't show any love for anyone or anything, it's a waste of a day. You should live life to the fullest and enjoy it to the greatest capacity available to you. I think that this joyous holiday is better off celebrated once a year so we appreciate our loved ones a little more than any other day of the year. Besides, in my opinion, this holiday is just a scheme for stores to make money. Cards, balloons, flowers, and etc. are the basic Valentine's Day gifts. I think it's a waste and that every day can be just like the holiday, just showing someone you love them, you truly care about them, without having to give them a gift. You could show love and affection in so many other, many better ways and I think people should start doing that more.

i dont think that valintines day should be such an important holiday. i think that its just the card companies ways of gettin money.
y do we need 1 day to celelabrate love when we could do that every day. so fellas dont wait untill valintines day to show that special somone that u truely do love them.

I believe that Valentine's Day has become extremely commerical. I feel as If i am requiered to go out of my busy schedule and buy heart shaped choclates and over priced roses. Whatever happened to the true meaning of "love"? Love should be celbrated every single day of the year. It doesnt take choclates and a card to show how much you care about a person. It should be that every day we express our feelings to the ones we love. So this valentine's day instead of buying a card make one! Instead of buying flowers and go pick out some from your neighbors garden. Bake them something special. The time and love we put into these things will show the true Valentino we are!!

This celebration again, has been watered down and commercialized and has buried the facts behind the truth. Just an addition to the story of valintine and the jailers daughter. One source of informaiton states that the jailer, knowing that valintine was a man of God, asked him to pray for his blind daughter. When he did this the jailers daughters sight was restored. It is also stated that one of the last communications from valintine was a letter to this jailers daughter and was signed "Your Valintine".
