Google Maps can be used in Kindergarten Social Studies/Science instruction.  Here's one to explore. Please allow time for the Google map to load.  There are a number of videos embedded in the Google map to enjoy.

Interactive whiteboards enable us to reach students through multiple modalities.  This is particularly useful in Kindergarten when students do not have letter recognition.  Here is a pre & post assessment, written in SMARTBoard Notebook software that is used with the Google Map that follow above this post.  Enjoy!

Essential Questions: (1) Does the individual play the most important part in Modern History? (2) What is more important, material wealth, happiness or spiritual enlightenment? (3) Is there a conflict between the public good and private gain -- e.g. use of resources? 

 

During the early 19th century, individuals arose who became extremely wealthy in many different industries. They became known as the "Robber Barons". Choose an individual from the list before and research their lives, businesses and key facts. Create a Google doc. Add your findings to the Google doc. Be sure to add your comments below.
